Champion Zones: Building Organizational Capacity
The Champion Zones project is a collaborative initiative funded for the purpose of building the capacity of nonprofits and faith-based organizations who serve the 32211 zip code area in order to enhance the general quality of life in the region and improve student achievement in the neighborhood schools.
Jacksonville University: Leadership & Learning
This project is still in the planning stages. Its basic design is the delivery of a Masters of Leadership & Learning at Jacksonville University that will allow for school-based and community-based leaders to master key skills and learn of best practices and resources for being an effective leader with an emphasis on Social Intelligence Leadership (SIL).
Environmental Responsibility: Service Learning Initiative
This project is an off-shoot from an endeavor in progress—Champion Zones. Its mission is to create a safer, more pleasing and life-sustaining environment for those in the targeted geographic area of ZIP32211. This will be done through the creation of a “hands-on” curriculum that will be developed and delivered throughout the neighborhoods to connect individuals and empower them to affect and maintain positive changes as to how they interact with their environment.
