Phase 1

Assess current organizational capacity (includes analysis of resiliency factors of key organizations---governing agencies, schools, various businesses and nonprofits); assess community needs and assets (includes geospatial representation)

Product Name Description
Organizational Capacity & Resiliency Assessment (with an accompanying Scoring Rubric to prioritize development needs) Assessment to identify areas where nonprofits need to improve and build capacity to better serve; There are 7 parts to this review (1) Organizational Development, (2) Leadership, (3) Program Development, (4) Evaluation, (5) Resource Development, (6) Community Engagement, and (7) Resiliency Factors
Community Assessment Survey STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND DESIGN: This survey is designed to gather data from individuals that could not be otherwise obtained in order to create a Community Profile. This survey along with community canvassing exercises will contribute to the creation of a comprehensive visualization of a community that resides in a specified geographic area as the data is represented geospatially through mapping.
This assessment consists of 7 modules that may be administered collectively (highly recommended) or simply by choosing the one(s) that fit the need. Module A must be administered to gain demographic data and must be tailored to the geographic area. Modules B, C, D, E, F, and G are standard documents. Module G though does allows for a community to create a custom set of questions strictly applicable to its situation or programs to obtain feedback regarding assets and deficits.
Assessment Facilitator Toolkit Includes all of the essential tools, materials, forms, and instruments needed to organize and conduct community assessments
Resiliency Factors Analysis for Schools Consists of a review process for a school in four critical areas [(1) composition and programs, (2) physical environment, (3) cultural environment, (4) communications] and how the components of each contribute to resiliency; includes the use of 4 tools for data collection [(1) General Demographics & Inventory Reporting, (2) On-Campus Observation Assessment, (3) School Culture Assessment, (4) Communications Assessment] and results in an analysis of resiliency factors in a report with an accompanying CD toolkit for help in implementing recommendations and measuring change
Resiliency Factors Analysis for Governing Agencies Consists of a review process for a governing agency in four critical areas [(1) programs and processes, (2) physical environment, (3) cultural environment, (4) communications] and how the components of each contribute to resiliency
Resiliency Factors Analysis for Businesses Consists of a review process for a business in four critical areas [(1) programs and processes, (2) physical environment, (3) cultural environment, (4) communications] and how the components of each contribute to resiliency
Comprehensive Community Profile The cornerstone of the PCR model is a means of knowing and understanding a community by exploring a multitude of data sets, some geospatially; enables community members to easily identify key assets, spatial inequalities, and resource deficits essential to assessing, building, and maintaining a balance in the seven areas of wellbeing and ensuring resiliency; serves to inform residents of resources available and issues that need attention while providing the basis for establishing networks throughout the area to strengthen community bonds for better sustainability of efforts; There are three major areas in which you will need to collect data.
General Demographics: vital and social statistics (race, language, religion, age, births, deaths, marital status, socio-economic levels, education levels, employment stats, crime stats, as well as expressed concerns
Specific Wellbeing Data,: data that is most relevant to a particular area of wellbeing (i.e. PMI would gather in depth information with regards to the population numbers and he physical and mental condition of specific groups who are usually in need of more care such as infants, the disabled, the elderly; meanwhile the SIR team would be looking into social opportunities and relationship building skills for parents with newborns, the elderly, the disabled and so on)
Community Assets: data listing of all the resources at work in a geographic area (may also include entities not yet engaged but with potential) (i.e. nonprofit organizations, churches, schools, libraries, hospitals, businesses, social clubs, daycares, residents, etc.); this data collection would include a table of the type of asset, specific resources, and wellbeing connection as well as information regarding current practices that promote resiliency
Community Canvassing Toolkit Includes all of the equipment, materials, tools, forms and instruments needed to conduct community canvassing activities
WWW.JoinPCR.NET Website for communication and collaboration efforts; will be used throughout all phases and beyond (currently only the pilot for Duval County zip 32211 is in development)
